Hey, it's Kim here! If there's one thing I've learned running COSMICOS, it's that being a small business owner is a wild ride—full of ups, downs, and everything in between. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love what I do, but behind every adorable pet treat and every happy customer, there are plenty of challenges we face every single day.
One of the biggest? Keeping up with demand! Seeing so many pet parents fall in love with our treats is the best feeling ever, but making sure every order is packed with care and delivered on time is no joke. Shipping can be a headache, but we always find a way to get your pets their goodies as fast as possible.
Another challenge? Staying creative and innovative. Every new product, packaging design, or flavor idea takes months of testing, perfecting, and planning. It’s a labor of love, and your support makes it all worth it. Knowing that our community is just as excited about COSMICOS as we are keeps us going!
But beyond these daily struggles, there's another layer to this journey: being a Latina entrepreneur in the U.S. Did you know that Latino-owned businesses generate over $800 billion in revenue annually? We’re a major driving force in the economy, yet we still face unique barriers like limited access to funding and financial resources. According to Stanford’s State of Latino Entrepreneurship report, many of us have to navigate challenges like inflation, supply chain issues, and adapting to a fast-changing digital world—all while growing our businesses from the ground up.
Honestly, some nights I lose sleep thinking about it all. How do we keep up with rising costs? How do we make sure our brand keeps evolving? And how do we continue bringing joy to pets and their humans despite these obstacles? The truth is, it’s tough. But it’s also what makes this journey so incredibly rewarding.
